The heating mat features a fine resistive heating wire embedded in a self-adhesive fiberglass mesh, designed for electric underfloor heating applications.

This Ni-Cr multithreaded wire efficiently converts electrical current into heat, warming the area around the mat. Each cable core is coated with a layer of teflon and reinforced with a protective ground wire for added safety. The mat’s top layer is made from robust PVC insulation, capable of enduring temperatures up to 105 °C.

Cost-Effective Installation: Easy to install in any space beneath the flooring.

Long-Lasting Reliability: A robust system with a lifespan of 30 years or more.

Instant Heat & Energy Efficiency: Provides immediate warmth and saves energy by being installed directly under the floor.

Discreet Design: Being embedded in the floor, it seamlessly integrates with the room’s overall aesthetic.

Minimal Thickness: At just 4.3 mm thick, it won’t raise the floor height.

Simple, Precise Control: Easily managed with an intuitive thermostat.

What is a Heating Mat?

A heating mat is a simple yet effective system for underfloor heating. It consists of heating wires embedded in a self-adhesive fiberglass mesh. TRIVOLT heating mats are designed with double-stranded wires, which means you can start installation in one spot and complete it elsewhere without needing to return to the starting point. Each mat is custom-manufactured to the precise length needed for your space and cannot be shortened, ensuring a perfect fit.

Installation of Heating Mat Under the Tiles

Underfloor heating – heating mat

Electric heating mats are straightforward to install, whether on a concrete screed or on thermal insulation boards such as XPS. The installation process is simplified by the self-adhesive fiberglass mesh that holds the heating wires, allowing for easy attachment of the mat to the underlay. You can lay the mat in any direction, and if needed, cut through the fiberglass mesh to continue the installation. For securing the mats and laying tiles, we use flexible adhesives to ensure a strong bond and reliable performance.

WHEN TO USE A HEATING MAT?

Heating mats are primarily used as supplementary heating to enhance comfort and provide a warm floor, ideal for spaces like bathrooms, kitchens, and corridors. For optimal results when using a heating mat as the main heating system, it should cover approximately 80% of the floor area. This coverage ensures an even temperature distribution throughout the room.

FLOOR TEMPERATURE CONTROL

The underfloor heating mat operates from the 230 V mains and provides an output of 160 W per m². This allows it to reach temperatures up to 60 °C. To prevent damage to the floor and avoid overheating, the mat must always be connected through a thermostat with a floor temperature sensor.

The floor temperature in underfloor heating should not exceed:

28 °C in living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and hallways

34 °C in sanitary areas such as bathrooms and toilets

All TRIVOLT thermostats come with a floor temperature sensor included. You can set and control the maximum floor temperature through the thermostat’s service settings.

SAFE HEATING SYSTEM

Many customers value the ease of installing the heating mats themselves using our instructions, helping to minimize errors. A flawless and high-quality installation is essential for the longevity of the heating mat. However, the actual electrical connection of the mat and thermostat should be performed by a certified electrician.

TRIVOLT underfloor heating mats are crafted from premium materials and come with a warranty of up to 20 years. We are confident in their durability, believing they will far exceed this warranty period.
