HeatHub is a smart thermostat with colour display with LAN and WiFi connection and advanced features for convenient control of the zone heating system. As it is located in the switchboard, it does not interfere with the interior design and also simplifies installation. HeatHub is also a suitable solution for cottages or apartment buildings where you don’t want the customer to have access to the heating control and add unnecessary costs.

1 WIRE BUS

1 wire is a bus designed by Dallas Semiconductor for communication of devices with low data rate but long range. Air temperature sensors and floor temperature sensors are connected to the 1 wire bus. Basically, we need to stretch 1 FTP cable from the switchboard through all the rooms. The 1 wire sensor converts the analog temperature value into a digital temperature value with an accuracy of 0.5 °C, so the control is much more precise than with resistive NTC sensors.

SMART SYNC

The SmartSync function is a controlled distribution of maximum power. SmartSync allows the maximum power of the zone heating system to be shared when the power supply is insufficient. With SmartSync we can divide the heating time into 3 time zones, thus ensuring that at any one time the energy load is not higher than the capacity of the electrical connection allows.

PWM CONTROL

PWM control can be set using the SmartSync function. With PWM control, the output is permanently switched on and off with a defined interval – for example 2 min heating, 1 min not heating. The time intervals as well as the individual channels can be set in the web interface. The SmartSync function can also be used with sufficient current dimension as pulse width modulation PWM switching. Such a control helps for more precise control. However, a solid-state SSR relay should always be used as a channel termination stage.

Hot water heating

THERMOSTATIC HEADS

Thermostatic heads with thermoelectric actuators are used to control underfloor heating. The thermostatic heads can be connected directly to the HeatHub without the need for an auxiliary relay. The thermoelectric actuator, for example Salus T30NC 230V / 24V, is used to open and close the water flow to the individual heating zones of the hot-water underfloor zone heating system, making it possible to provide zonal control.

The HeatHub has also implemented a function for switching the circulation pump and also a relay that signals the demand for hot water to the underfloor zone heating, i.e. it sends an instruction to the Heat Pump or Boiler that it should heat. In this case the air temperature sensors are sufficient, no floor sensors are needed.

TEMPERATURE ACCORDING TO YOUR PREFERENCE

Cottage, apartment or your house, HeatHub has universal use. In addition to electric underfloor zone heating, it can also control water underfloor heating with a heat pump or gas boiler. You control everything via your mobile phone, while the control unit – an 8-channel thermostat is hidden in the switchboard, so it doesn’t disturb your room design, saving you already on installation splines and simpler electrical wiring.  Individual zone switching is purely electronic with no mechanical components such as relays, so we’ve eliminated potential malfunctions.
